CB2 receptor modulation effect on hepatorenal syndrome (HRS)

Bile duct ligation (BDL) causes hepatorenal syndrome (HRS) which is a life-threatening condition manifested by rapid deterioration of kidney function.

It is believed that oxidative damage and inflammatory cascades are the main drivers of liver and kidney injury after BDL.

A recent research by Tronjar et.al 2019 in mice,  demonstrates that a selective cannabinoid receptor 2 (CB2) agonist, HU-910, can decrease inflammation, oxidative stress and fibrosis as well as microcirculation.
